Crocus Expo IEC. Moscow. Russia.
Between 13 and 17 of September, in IEC Crocus Expo in Moscow, leading world and domestic manufacturers of commercial vehicles presented their achievements at the 11th International Specialized Exhibition COMTRANS'2011. Being included in the official calendar of Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles (OICA), this exhibition has become the world’s largest autoshow in commercial transport industry in 2011.
320 companies from Russia, CIS and far-abroad countries took part in the exhibition. Domestic and foreign manufacturers of trucks, buses, trailers, special vehicles and spare parts demonstrated their exhibits at the area of 47,200 sq.m. which has increased two times comparing with the previous year. The number of exhibitors has also grown by 70%. According to the statistics 20 227 people have visited COMTRANS’2011 that is 65 more than in 2010.
World top companies presented their achievements during the show. Among them are MAN, Volvo, Scania, Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok, KAMAZ, GAZ Group, Renault Trukcs, DAF, Iveco, Volkswagen, Ford, Peugeot, Citroen, Hyundai, Hino,Fuso, Schmitz, Kogel, Krone / Rolfo and many others.
We should also note that at COMTRANS’2011 one of the largest Russian automobile manufacturers KAMAZ has constructed the biggest stand in the exhibition history with the area of 4940 sq. m where more than 60 exhibits were presented as its own production and joint development with company partners,factories, machinery manufacturers and joint ventures. Domestic automotive industry was also represented by GAZ Group, AMO ZIL, NEFAZ, TAGAZ and others.
It is worth mentioning that Gosudarstvennaya Transportnaya Lizingovaya Kompaniya (State Transport Leasing Company) ( GTLK). This company not only operates in the financial services industry, but also implements public policy in the field of passenger transport. Jointly with its partners, such as GAZ Group, TAGAZ and many other manufacturers, GTLK introduced a special lease program and the current models of passenger and road transport, supply in a lease.
Besides comprehensive display visitors benefited from the rich business program. During the press day which was organized before the official opening of the exhibitions, dozens of presentations and press conferences were held. 515 journalists accredited on COMTRANS’2011, including 34 representatives of foreign mass media. For the first time jury members of the prestigious international contest Truck of the year visited the show.

- Association Of Russian Automakers (OAR) – Nonprofit partnership established in 2003 on initiative of leading Russian vehicle manufacturers: OAO AVTOVAZ, OAO KAMAZ, OOO MC GAZ Group and OAO Sollers;
- Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles (OICA) – alliance of vehicle manufacturers established in 1919 in Paris which controls relations between manufacturers and the number of international auto exhibitions;
- IMAG – international department of MESSE MUNCHEN INTERNATIONAL which is one of the largest exhibition companies in the world and which organizes about 40 recognized specialized industrial exhibitions;
- Gosudarstvennaya Transportnaya Lizingovaya Kompaniya (GTLK) (State Transport Leasing Company). GTLK participates in implementation of state policy on stimulation of transport branch upgrading.
Within a framework of the exhibition were sum up the results of the 11th annual competition "Best Commercial Vehicle of the Year in Russia”. Scania, Volkswagen, MAN, Iveco-AMT and GAZ became the prize winners.
