Within the framework of existing foundry upgrading Italian Company I.M.F. Srl installed a snap-flask molding line for small and medium-sized castings with 15-mold-per-hour efficiency, a ground molding line for heavy castings with 2-mold-per-hour efficiency, mechanical and thermal regeneration systems for molding sand, united by the system of pneumatic transport for supply of sand and mixture, equipment and automation means. Estimated capacity of the line is 10000 t per year, which allows increasing foundry volumes three times. Reconstruction investment volume amounts to approximately 13 bln euro.

Transition to the new technology allows the enterprise to increase production volumes, decrease anthropogenic load at the environment and improve quality of casts. Besides, high strength of CHM forms for small and medium-sized castings allows to avoid application of cast molding flasks and replace them with light “jackets” for snap-flask molding. A technological production cycle is reduced in production of large steel and cast-iron foundry goods with application of CHM.
