IVECO RUSSIA LLC supplied 4,783 units of earth-moving and building machinery to Russia in 2008. they comprised 691 units of light vehicles (2.8t – 6.5t), 76 units of medium vehicles (6,51t - 15,99t) and 4.016 units of heavy-duty trucks (over 16 tonnes) including 972 units shipped for Iveco-UralAZ LLC. Import sales by the Russian division of Iveco in 2008 increased by 15% in comparison with the previous year’s figures. There was a considerable growth of heavy machinery with predominant sales in the first half of the year 2008. At Samoter 2008, the international exhibition, Iveco showed to the market launch of the the colossal RD50 rigid dumper with a load capacity of 50 tonnes. There were positive changes in IVECO RUSSIA LLC personnel. Alfredo Derrico, who worked in our country in the early 90s, was appointed Director General of the company.  They signed contracts in 2008 with one of its new dealers AvtoTrans-Tyumen. It proved the biggest success to promote Iveco brand and boost sales in its region. Among big deals it is worth mentioning MosPromStroi CC, which acquired 50 dumpers, concrete mixing machines and Iveco Trakker artics. This year Iveco sets its hopes on release of new machinery in the Russian market, whereas its top priority will be sale rise in Russian regions and joint ventures play in increased role in the current situation of crisis.
