KAMAZ did not lose Ukraine

According to the estimates of analytics from Chelny, the Ukraine has potentially the most capacious market of trucks among the CIS countries and the post-Soviet territory. Indeed, in 2010 the total sales volumes of trucks (new and second-hand) with the full weight of over 16 tons constituted about 5750. However, sales of the second-hand trucks prevail in the market, and only 38% of sales concern the sale of new equipment. Do not forget that the country vehicle fleet needs to be considerably updated: The average age of medium- and heavy-duty class trucks constitutes 21 and 18 years accordingly. The consequences of a world economic crisis in the Ukrainian car market were not overcome in 2010: the market of new trucks was reduced by 21% in comparison with 2009, whereas the market of second-hand trucks has grown by 53.5%. If in 2009 the general decline of the market of medium- and heavy-duty trucks exceeded 75%, in 2010 it has fallen by another 25%. Thus, KamAZ managed to keep the growth of its share in the Ukraine with the ongoing recession of the market. In the sales structure dump trucks with the share of 62% prevail.

In 2011 the growth of the Ukrainian truck market at the level of 15-20% is predicted, and the estimated market capacity of new trucks will constitute about 2750 vehicles. Among them Kamaz will presumably deliver from 750 to 900 vehicles.
Kazakhstan is still the largest export market of Kamsky car factory. In 2010 more than 1.5 thousand new trucks were delivered there (for comparison: in 2007 – 7000, in 2008 – 2200, and in 2009 – 480 vehicles). It's almost 40% of the company's export. Deliveries were carried out both in the full-assembled state and in the form of assembly sets (CKD) for the subsequent assembly at "Kamaz-engineering" JSC factory in the city of Kokshetau where over 500 trucks were assembled last year. According to different estimates, the share of KamAZ equipment in Kazakhstan in 2010 constituted from 33% to 38%. The strongest positions traditionally remain in the segment of four-wheel drive trucks where the company share constituted more than 70% of the new vehicles sales.
