KAMAZ did not lose Ukraine
According to the estimates of analytics from Chelny, the Ukraine has potentially the most capacious market of trucks among the CIS countries and the post-Soviet territory. Indeed, in 2010 the total sales volumes of trucks (new and second-hand) with the full weight of over 16 tons constituted about 5750. However, sales of the second-hand trucks prevail in the market, and only 38% of sales concern the sale of new equipment. Do not forget that the country vehicle fleet needs to be considerably updated: The average age of medium- and heavy-duty class trucks constitutes 21 and 18 years accordingly. The consequences of a world economic crisis in the Ukrainian car market were not overcome in 2010: the market of new trucks was reduced by 21% in comparison with 2009, whereas the market of second-hand trucks has grown by 53.5%. If in 2009 the general decline of the market of medium- and heavy-duty trucks exceeded 75%, in 2010 it has fallen by another 25%. Thus, KamAZ managed to keep the growth of its share in the Ukraine with the ongoing recession of the market. In the sales structure dump trucks with the share of 62% prevail.
