Manitou Innovation: Rotative telescopic trucks go electric!
Attentive to the needs of its clients, who are becoming more and more concerned with environmental issues, the Manitou company has decided to introduce a new option within its range of rotative telescopic handlers. The objective of this particularly efficient new system is to reduce pollutant and noise emissions in order to respect the environment. As an optional feature, Manitou has equipped its MRT 2150 PRIVILEGE rotative telescopic handler with its working height of 21 metres and a lifting capacity of 4,999 kg, with an electro-hydraulic system composed of a three-phase asynchronous electric motor. This solution enables all of the operations previously limited by the pollutant and sound emissions of diesel engines to be carried out even inside of buildings.
The bi-energy system of the MRT 2150 can be launched whenever the operator wishes: the MRT 2150 PRIVILEGE rotative telescopic handler can operate with a diesel motor using a classic fuel supply or with an electric motor (simply via an external electric connection) during static handling operations in order to avoid pollution, limit noise emissions and reduce energy consumption.
To benefit from the advantages of the bi-energy system, the machine should first be stabilised. The external connection to the electricity network then enables it to switch to bi-energy mode. The user can therefore carry out material handling operations from the cab or with the radio control from the outside of the machine. The operator can also benefit from the bi-energy mode from the access platform basket.
