NEW MARKING OF TIRES
Cohesion with a wet road is graded with classes from A to G where A is the best cohesion and G is the worst, and is designated on the right side of the new marking. Fuel efficiency is graded in the same way, from A (the highest fuel efficiency) to G (the lowest one), and is designated on the left side of the new marking. Noise level of tires is designated in the lower part of the new marking. It is measured in dB and is accompanied with the symbol of one, two or three sound waves. One black wave means the lowest level of noise from tires, that is, the level which is at least by 3 dB less than the future allowable level. The highest level of noise from tires is shown with three black waves; it means that the noise of the tires is between the current maximally allowable value and the future minimal value which will come in force by Regulations 661 in 2012-2016.
