Technical data of WaWe-10 (internal designation) impress as strongly as its design: Power of turbo V6 engine (Euro 5, BlueTec – SCR) is 408 HP, PowerSchift automated gearbox, Telligent brake system, 10 meters long, 3.70 meters high. It can take 10 tons of water. Rosenbauer N 35 pump with output 3500 l/min at working pressure 10 bars is equipped with an independent diesel engine. There are three independent remotely controlled stream nozzles: two at the front with water flow rate 1200 l/min each and one at the rear – 900 l/min. The water jet cannon is equipped with special outer devices for fire-extinguishing which can be used for preventing its arson while being used for its direct function. By the way, the machine can be optionally used in emergency situations: for struggle against fires or… for delivery of drinking water.

The official report, apart from low level of operation costs, harmful emissions and absence of exceeding allowable axle loads, underlines level of comfort for the crew: a tilting cab for facilitating maintenance, a climate control system of closed-loop cycle, and even a mini-kitchen.

The experimental operation will take place in the first half of 2010 in several cities, including Stuttgart. In general, one may speak of delivery of 78 similar vehicles to the police by the end of 2019. The price of the machine is about 1.0 million euros (which is absolutely compatible with that of MB Citaro Fuel Cell bus on hydrogen fuel elements). The overall price of the project is 75 million euros.
