The Army Supports Unification
The existing structure of a domestic fleet is represented by 41 basic models and 60 modifications. The lion's share of the fleet – 33% – is trucks of the ZIL brand. 71% of army vehicles are equipped with petrol engines. The fleet’s age structure is a sad picture – there are only 7% vehicles with the age under six years, the age of 80% of military automotive equipment exceeds 12 years. The plans are to increase the “six-year-old” vehicles share to 35% and vehicles with the age of from 6 to 12 to 40% by 2020.
