Truck output increased by 45%
Within nine months of 2011 in Russia there were produced 147284 trucks or 45,0% more than for the same period of the last year. This figure remains the highest one among all sectors of Russian car market. Herewith production of trucks of foreign models increased by 76,7 % that is to 17475 items. Their share in the total output of trucks in Russia made up 11,8% in January-September of the current year (in January-September of 2010 it made up 9,7%). High rates of output growth were observed at Scania-Piter plant - 787 items (increase by 4,7 times), Kaluga Volvo plant – 3130 items (increase by 4,7 times), IVECO-AMT – 521 items (plus 52,8%). Among Russian car plants high rates of output growth were shown by KamAZ that is 30702 items (plus 39,8%), GAZ – 67104 items (plus 42,1%), UAZ – 18102 items (plus 51,8%), Izhavto – 3460 items (plus 21525,0%). Of special note is return to production at AMO «ZIL» which produced 261 trucks, generally they were classic conventional cars ZIL-4329/4333 with 6-8 ton load-carrying capacity. For nine months of the year 2011 sales of trucks increased by 64,5% that is up to 226,16 thousand items. Absolute sales growth was fixed in all segments of truck market. Shipment of domestic cars increased by 32,2% (from 83,50 thousand items up to 110,37 thousand items), but their market share decreased from 60,7% to 48,8%. Sales of foreign cars made in Russia increased by 76,1% (from 8,90 thousand up to 15,67 thousand items) with a slight development of the share of this segment from 6,5% up to 6,9%. Import of new trucks proved to be a rapidly developing segment which increased by 2,4 times that is up to 88,57 thousand cars with the increase of market share by 12,4 points that is up to 39,2%. Sales of the imported used cars increased by 1,4 times that is up to 11,55 thousand items with the decrease of their share by one point that is up to 5,1%.
