The year of 2008 proved beneficial forVolvo Construction Equipment, the division of road-building equipment, despite the ongoing financial crisis. The company has preserved a steady share in the global markets and even increased it in Russia up to 7%. Sales in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus totaled 1547 units. 1357 vehicles out of this number were sold in Russia exceeding the 2007 level by 40%. New models of equipment were introduced in the Russian market: ECR88C and EC35B compact excavators. The release of a wheeled excavator EW145B, as well as L45F and L50F compact loaders was announced to enter the market. Its dealer network has expanded considerably. Besides the operating dealers, there appeared a dealer responsible for the Siberian Federal District. A network of sales agents  was created in the Central Region, two new sale and aftersale service centers were set up in the North-West Region.
